Questioni eat mostly raw paleo. i buy grass fed beef roasts. they have a layer of fat on one side. i get the
ones with the most fat. i eat very little carbs, so my calories come mostly from fat. i get regular
exercise, mostly walking, not strenuous. i would like to know the best ratio of meat to fat, but it
must be in a way i can measure. i do not have a scale. could you put it in terms of volume, as in
1/2 cup fat to 1 cup mostly lean meat? i eat this all raw. i usually just guess. my standard meal is
one cup of this mixture of fat and meat, which i know from the original weight of the roast is
about 1/2 pound. i eat this twice a day, so one pound of raw meat / fat per day, which seems
to work for me. thank you RPG.
AnswerI think you really need to contact Lex Rooker on rawpaleoforum via private-email. He is the most experienced raw, zero-carber around, far more knowledgeable than me on this particular subject. All I know, from Lex, is that raw animal fat in a diet of RVLC or RZC should be around 25%(?). By calorie, the fat-content is a lot higher, of course, being something like 75%, I think(?)
