QuestionHi I have huge daily chocolate cravings and need to loose weight.
I love chocolate pudding. ANything of pudding consistency.
DO suggest some low fat recipes
AnswerHi Shakthi,
One of good things about cravings is that they pass. The more often that you substitute a high-calorie snack with a glass of water, or a walk up and down a staircase, the faster you will lose weight. You might consider starting the day with fruit -- cut up some fruit with some non-fat yogurt (pudding consistency). In that way, you get your sweet fix with some protein, which will keep you going until your next meal.
Portion size is key. If you like nut butters, although they are high in fat, eaten in small quantities (a teaspoon per day), you'll find that they are satisfying. Almonds are the highest nut in fiber, and a tablespoon can zap a craving in a snap because the fiber is filling.
The key to weightloss is spending more calories (exercise) than you take in, so high-fiber, complex foods like brown rice and green, leafy vegetables will go a long way toward helping you out.
One of my favorite puddings is rice pudding. If you substitute with brown rice, you raise your fiber level. Here's a good vegan recipe: http://alteredplates.blogspot.com/search?q=rice+pudding
Hope that helps!
