Questionmy current diet is raw meat/fish/fat and low-
starch cooked vegetables. i've read many times
that you get more nutrients out of cooked
vegetables as opposed to raw, because of
the cellulose holding them in. also, my teeth
aren't the best, and i can't chew most raw
vegetables. do you think vegetables are
important ( i've heard they're not necessary,
over-rated, constipating, fiber can irritate
your intestines, on and on ). the kicker is that
here on the big island of hawaii, grass-fed
beef is cheap ( $3 / pound ), but the vegetables
are just as much. i really like my raw paleo diet,
but i must eat something to go along with the raw
animals. one other question, i recently read that
garlic/onions are unhealthy. your opinion ?
thanks RPG.

AnswerMost RPDers don't find raw vegetables that good as any are very high in antinutrients. The ones high in antinutrients tend to be the ones which taste the least good when raw. I myself only eat raw seaweed(which comes with the raw mussels I buy),raw carrots, raw radishes and raw lettuces for raw salads.Cooking veg does release more nutrients(if the veg is only steamed/lightly cooked in moisture) but it also adds heat-created toxins into the mix which defeats the point.
I usually eat raw fruit as well as my raw meats. You might try raw honeycomb as well.
I don't think garlic/onions are unhealthy, but I wouldn't eat them as a mainstay of the diet, just as a slight topping.
