QuestionHow many grams of carbs does an average body burn in one day?
AnswerNatalia,
There is no way to know that, that I know of. Your body burns calories and those calories can come from carb, fat, and protein. Carbs are your body's first choice of energy but there is no way to know when the body is burning calories, exactly what source they are coming from. It depends on many factors such as if you are eating enough carbs to use carbs for energy or if the body is using protein or fat instead. In addition there is no "average" body. Everyone is different and burns calories at a different rate. There are MANY factors that effect calorie burning such as age, muscle mass, gender, activity level, etc...
We do know that 3,500 calories equal one pound of body fat so to lose 1 pound you need a 3,500 calorie deficit. For instance if you want to lose 2 pounds per week that is a 7,000 calorie deficit for the week or 1,000 calorie deficit per day.
Hope that helps,
