QuestionHi, I'm a 18 year old girl who has struggled with weight... I was 120lbs and 5'2", I guess I wasn't really fat, but chubby nontheless. So I decided to diet two years ago and now I'm only 82lbs... I'm not anorexic, but I have this unrealistic and unrepressable fear of being fat, so I'm always on the watchout for what I eat, counting calories and refusing to let any "fattening food" enter my body. I usually have 1200 cals aday but I think I really need to gain some weight. What is the best way to do so? I don't want to put on pounds and pounds of fat on my body, how much should I eat a day and what kind exercise should help?
Thank you for listening to me, and looking forward for ur advise^^
AnswerOK - you aren't "anorexic". I said that for like 20 years. Of course, I was. I am. I always will be. Fortunately, I'm in a remission (again). Thing is, more than anything else, people with e.d.'s (eating disorders) are liars. We lie to ourselves first and everyone else 2nd. We often don't even know we're lying (to ourselves). We rationalize what we're doing. We make excuses, we call it something else, we do whatever we need to do, in order to continue, blamelessly.
Just two things: By eating so little, we make our metablism sluggish, so when we DO eat anything, the body finds a way to convert it to fat. The body will even destroy/burn muscle and organ tissue in order to add to fat. It's a biological instinct. So, if truly afraid to be "fat" ever, you need to stop your eating patterns and denial asap.
2nd - PLEASE check my site and look into the signs and symptoms of anorexia and eating disorders. Not only are there solutions for you, but there are food options as well. ALL without sales, no giving your email, no gimmicks and NO quacks.
