Questioni would like to ask you about ways of gaining weight. What are the sort of foods i can eat which will allow me to gain weight without doing exercise as i am not a body builder. I was told to drink protein shakes but i dont know where to start!
AnswerThis is hard to answer in just a few paragraphs but a few quick ideas for weight gain would be too concentrate your calories. Another words make everything you eat count such as adding cheese to scrambled eggs; adding more pasta to casserole dishes; fortifying soups, casseroles, and other dishes with dry milk powder; using sour cream on potatoes or mixed in with mashed potatoes; and garnish salads with seeds/nuts. Peanut butter is a good food because it is high in calories and fat BUT the fat is a healthy fat! Just find ways to add more calories to what you are already eating. Eat more frequently by eating five to six small meals per day. Focus on nutrient-rich foods and beverages and don't fill up on low and no calorie foods or drinks such as soft drinks or coffee. Instead drink milk, juice or milkshakes. Keep in mind you still need to eat healthy but just eat more of it.
