Questionhi there. i was wondering....i eat a medium breakfast, a rather small lunch, and an unusually large dinner (at around 8pm, and go to bed at around 11) with about 2 fruit snacks in between. Now the calories i take in should equal slow weight loss, even with the huge dinner,im still at like a 400-500 cal deficit. Will that big dinner hinder my efforts at all, or does it not matter when i take in these calories?
Oh and also, what is a normal weight fluctuation, for example, one day i might be 3 lbs lighter or heavier than the day before, is this normal? thanks.
AnswerDear Eric, weight fluctuations are usually dependent on fluid levels in the body and might occur when you eat foods that have a higher sodium level. Try weighing yourself only once a week so you don't see these fluctuations and try eating foods that are less salty.
Total calories are important, so if you are at a 400-500 calorie deficit you should be losing about a pound a week. If you are not losing this then you should space out your calories more equally in the day. It's trial and error. When you eat a meal, whatever is not used for energy will be stored in the liver and as fat. It's easier to burn the calories during the day when you are active. Some people have high metabolisms and can eat what they want and still lose weight, others are not so lucky and should only eat what they know they can burn off in a few hours.Good Luck, Laura Kraemer,Slimkids.com
