Your caloric needs are based upon what your goals are. Do you want to maintain your current weight or lose weight?
There are different methods you can use one is called the Harris Benedict formula used to measure your basal energy expenditure (BEE). This method is fairly accurate and is used in clinical settings.
655 + (9.6 x 60 your weight in kg) + (1.8 x 154.94 your height in cm) - (4.7 x 29 your age) =
655 + 576 + 278.89 - 136.3 = 1374 calories - This is only based upon what your body needs when you are not active. For activity level you can add approximately 500 - 700 calories.
Another method is to multiply your weight in kg by 25 - 30 calories per kg of body weight for weight maintenance. This
come out to about 1500 calories.
