QuestionHello. I am 5'7 and I weigh 137 lbs. I am looking to loose 12-15 lbs. I have been working out about 5x a week since Jan. and I haven't seen much results. I have been considering trying Ephedra-free Hydroxycut. I was wondering if that would be an ok thing to do, b/c i have heard some bad things about once you get off pills like that, etc. Thanks!
AnswerLauren,
At 5'7" and 137 pounds you are already at a healthy weight. I don't recommend losing 12-15 pounds! That is very unrealistic for someone of your height and can be unhealthy to be too thin. You may want to work on toning but there is no need to lose weight. Make sure your workouts consist of both aerobic and light weight training for the best results.
I most definitely DO NOT recommend taking any type of pills. Besides the fact that they are expensive you have no idea what you may be doing to your health long-term. In addition, you learn nothing from taking a pill. You are trying to be healthy by exercising and staying at a healthy weight! WHY ruin it with a foreign substance you are not completely sure of in your body!!
Those types of supplements are NOT regulated by the FDA and they can make just about any claim they want. DON'T waste your money or ruin your health! Just stick to a good exercise program and a healthy eating plan!! And reconsider your weight goals! Again, you are already at a healthy weight! If you don't feel good at that weight what you really may just need is to tone up a bit! If all you do is aerobic exercise, that is great! BUT will not help tone you up. You need some type of weight training. Why don't you take the money you would have spent on the pills and use it to hire a personal trainer for a few sessions. They can start you on a good program that will help you do what you need to be happy with your body!
Good Luck,
