QuestionHello,
I am 13 and a ballet dancer. I have to stay fit to be able to dance, although I am not overweight. I am 5'8 and I weigh about 105 pounds. I don't think that I have a very healthy diet because I eat a lot, and a lot of junkfood. Things like huge snacks and big meals. I want to tone down how much I eat, but how do I go about this without dropping to eating nothing? I want to have better nutrition. And I'm not interested in dieting exactly.
Thanks for your help,
edith.
AnswerAt 5'8" you are very underweight and do not need to lose weight. But losing weght and eating healthier are two totally different things. You may be able to eat junk food now and not have to wrry about your weight, but it will catch up with youin the long run and it's better to get accustomed to a healthy diet now, rather than wait until you start to see the consequences of those bags of chips and candy bars!
I reccommend a diet with lots of fruits and veggies and complex carbs (breads, pastas, potatoes). And you would be better off eating whole wheat and whole grain breads and pastas, and instead of white potatoes eat sweet potatoes... beans and brown rice. Anything that has white flour in it you should try to steer clear of.
Instead of eating huge meals, you would be better off eating several small meals, or just snacking on healthy stuff all day.
I know this isn't much info, but I like to get to the point quickly. if you have any more questions please contact me again.
