QuestionWhat can I eat or drink to help reduce the bad cholesterol? I know that red wine is good and also grapefruit.
Answerdanny,
Neither red wine or grapefruit will lower LDL (bad cholesterol). When it comes to lowering LDL, it is more important to AVOID or REDUCE the foods that increase LDL.
To lower LDL try decreasing saturated fats (animal fats) and trans-fatty acids (margarine & fried foods) in your diet. For more info, try these links:

Studies have shown that significantly reducing saturated fat and trans-fatty acids, LDL can be lowered by about 8%. Our cholesterol levels, especially total cholesterol and LDL, are mostly determined by our genes. Therefore, if you need to lower your total cholesterol more than 15-20% and your LDL by more than 10% you will need a cholesterol lowering medicine.
I hope this helps and best of luck.
