QuestionMaybe you can help.I need to know what I should eat.I'm trying to gain a few pounds, and to start eating the right foods.I'm not sure what I need to eat. What I would like is to figure out how many carbs, protein, and things of that nature my body needs to accomplish certain goals. For now I won't list all of those goals. Perhaps if you can help me, we could go into greater detail at a later time.I also need a way to know, (once I've figured out what my body needs)what foods to buy in order to get the proper vitamins and nutrients I need.I know this is a tall order.Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.Even if you could point me in right direction

AnswerHello frustrated :) ,
I share in your frustration as everyone has different opintions on things. Some say you need this much of this and that much of that. While others say you have to count and measure food.
KISS- keep it simple stupid
I teach clients to eat every 3-3.5 hrs of a meal consisting of a lean protein, starchy carb, fibrous carb, free of simple sugars and processed flours.
Some exs:
chicken breast, baked potato, brocolli
egg whites, oatmeal, peppers
Don't get hung up on trying to calculate every last bit of food you take in to make sure you're getting enough. I assure you that by eating often like I suggest you will provide your body with ample nutrients.
Also, begin listening to your body. Some say cut way back on portion sizes. Once you begin eating frequently your body should have a good idea of how much food you need. So, listen to it. If you're hungry eat.
I hope that's of some help to you.
