Will this diet work?

Question
Hello George, I need some advice. I am 5ft 7ins and I am overweight at 11st 13lbs. Two weeks ago I started a diet, which consisted of a slim fast milkshake for breakfast, my own prepared sandwiches using 49kcal a slice weight watches bread and a 400kcal dinner. I snack on 3-4 apples a day. So it's about 1000-1200 calories a day.
In addition to this I do aerobics twice a week and have been working out for an hour, 5 days a week at the gym using mainly the cardiovascular machines. At first I was enthusiastic feeling positive that I will soon see a change in my weight. I definitely feeling fitter, but I don't feel slimmer!
I know it's only been two weeks but do you think I will see a change at all? Do you think I need to restrict my calorie intake further? How long till I can comfortably wear a size 12 again? I am so repulsed by my body right now. I am sick of my thighs rubbing each other. I like to call them my "mono"-thighs.
Could you give me any tips on what exercise I should do have "duo" thighs rather than "mono"?, What foods should I avoid and what would you recommend?
Thanks
Nikki

Answer
Hello Nikki!

Thank you for your nutrition questions. Weight loss is a very gradual process so don't be alarmed that you have not lost any weight yet.  Studies show that gradual weight loss leads to permanent weight loss while people that lose weight quickly put it right back on. Healthy gradual weight loss is no more then 1-2lbs per week.
It sounds like you have a good eating and exercise plan going for weight loss.  I would not advise cutting your calorie intake any further because you run the risk of sending your body into starvation mode which will delay your weight loss. You should not go below 1200 calories. Performing some light weight lifting can help burn more calories also.
It would also help if you tried a supplement called Juice Plus which is available on my website (http://www.juiceblend.com).  Juice Plus contains the nutrients from 17 fruits and vegetables and grains.  It has helped many of my patients who are trying to lose weight and it would fit perfectly into your eating plan.  Why not give it a try for 4 months and see the results? Please let me know if you have more questions.
