QuestionI am 24, 5'3" and 180 pounds. I have been on the weight watchers 'points' program and I was temporarily successful - I lost almost 30 pounds. However, the diet left me starving. Eating didn't satisfy the hunger it only seemed to put aside the pains for a few minutes. I was constantly hungry - which led me to quit the diet and also gain back the 30 pounds. I would like to find a lifestyle that doesn't involve 'dieting' where I can eat healthy foods, have all my nutritional needs met and feel satisfied. Please help me!
AnswerJennifer,
I would suggest visiting a dietitian in your area. A dietitian is the professional in this area. He/she can provide a individualized plan for you as well as educate you on how to take the weight off and keep it off for life. No gimmicks, just professional help and genuine support!! A dietitian can help with menu planning and can help you work through hunger, etc... by working with you on these issues. A weight loss center such as Weight Watchers will not do that! Weight Watchers provides you with points but does not give enough detail as to where those points should be coming from when it comes to all of the food groups. They also do not work with you on behavior modification, which is a big part of successful weight loss. A dietitian would be much more detailed and you would have better success!
