Butter

Question
I cant seem to enjoy butter and the smallest amount added to a roll always seems to disagree with me. Do you know of any meds or pills that will counteract the effect of butter?

Answer
Richard,

Often intolerance to butter is due to being lactose intolerant (milk and milk products).  I am not aware of any condition where butter is not tolerated but the person is not lactose intolerant.  I suggest you see your doctor for a check up.  There are medicines to help those with lactose intolerance.

Also, have you tried a margarine (look for a healthy margarine with no trans-fatty acids, aka hydrogenated oils).  Being unable to tolerate butter may be a heart healthy blessing in disguise.  The saturated fat in butter is definitely not good for the heart.

Best of luck.
