QuestionHi,
I really need some advice & help. I was bulimic for about 10 years, and about 2 years ago i stopped. I was 5'7 and weighed 110 pounds. 6 months ago I found out I have a tyhroid problem with could be causing me to gain some, but im real worried I went from 110 to now 162 pounds, what scares me is that I dont eat bad food, I eat rice, salads, potatoes and I only eat at dinner. I havent really been excersing like I should though. But from being a bulimic this is like the worst thing that can happen .Any advice how I can lose this weight?
AnswerI understand bulimia (and anorexia) since I have suffered through both for more than 30 years! An ideal start for you is to get rid of the scale. Really. You cannot have a scale in your home. You'll be surprised at how much weight is lifted from you once you do this.
Let's get rid of the definitions of foods as "good" or "bad" while we're at it. NO food is "bad". You can eat chocolate, peanut butter, pasta, rice, bread, pizza, brownies, pie, you name it - and NOT gain weight. However, you can eat nothing but salads and pack on the pounds.
It's a matter of balance and amounts. In order for the body to function correctly, it needs a combination of food groups. Whole grains work with fruits and vegetables better than any one of these things work alone. Peanut butter really IS a health food! But just a tablespoon a day or so.
By only eating ONCE a day, you're body could be triggered into a biological reaction to famine! When this happens, it burns muscle, organ tissue, etc. first - so it can metabolically slow down and store fat - which is what will insure surviving the famine!
No pills, no powders, plans or products will change this.
It's why (for real) dieting CAUSES weight gain! More than 95% of all dieters, no matter how they diet, not only regain ALL the weight they might have lost, but within a year, gain 20% MORE!
It might be the hardest thing for you to do (after getting rid of the scale), but eating regularly throughout the day is absolutely the ONLY way you'll ever lose the weight.
Believe me. I know. I've done it! Once I started eating rather than fearing every mouthful of food, the weight just fell off! After 30 years, it took less than 6 MONTHS to lose every pound I ever wanted to lose. And that was over FIVE years ago now! I'm still thin, but eat more than I ever have in my life!
I've got it all outlined and explained at my site. FREE. No sales, nothing promoted, nothing recommended and no signing in required. Just plain honest - and quack free!
