QuestionI know it may be different for every case, but on average how long does it take for one with bulimia to end up in the hospital? If a person throws up around 2 times daily only after eating normal size meals.
AnswerIt's sooooo different for each person and there's different bulimia's too! I spent more than 30 years (nonstop) with a few different bulimia's - escaping hospitalization for that in particular, but suffering brittle bone disease and heart problems as a result (within the first few years).
I can also bear witness that bulimia does NOT work. Most (like 99%) bulimics are of average to OVER-weight. Of those who die, the majority are found either with their heads in a toilet (what a way to be remembered!), with ruptured esophagus (drowning in their own blood/fluids) or dropping dead of heart failure. It can occur after just weeks of first starting or longer. Worse? It can occur after the person STOPS the practice and thinks they are on the road to recovery.
