QuestionSir,
I'm doing a project as part of Health class in which I have to interview experts. I will highly appreciate if you can answer my questions related to career.
I was wondering, What are the pros and cons of your job?
What were some of the challanges in your career?
What advice would you give someone who wants to persue a career in your feild?
What is the corelation between exercise and anorexic disorders?
Sir, your littlest guidance will be of greatest help to me!
Thank you very much for your time,
Sincerely,
Shahnur
AnswerThank you for asking.
1. The pros of my job are the success stories. People who finally end a lifetime of struggle, learn a new lifestyle and discover that making a difference in this world is more important than a size they wear or number on a scale.
The cons are those people who refuse to listen, think they've tried it all before and would rather buy the products and pitches of a company selling something that won't work.
2. The challenges are still there. To get people to realize that life (and health) isn't as complicated as the media might make it out to be. To teach people to get out of their cars and onto their feet. To convince people that they are not going to be remembered in history or future generations for what they looked like, but rather, what they've done.
3. If anyone is going to pursue this kind of career, they absolutely need to learn compassion and understanding first. It helps if they've had a weight/health problem themselves and have recovered. Education is also key! A real, formal education at the college, university level in health and nutrition.
4. Anorexics (and bulimics) may use exercise in conjunction with their eating disorder, which is actually a psychological disorder, but this is doesn't always occur. Exercise does not cause or even contribute to either.
