QuestionHi ..I have a 3 year old son who is very underweight. He has a small appetite. The reason for this, as the doctor says is because he was born underweight ( 1.6 kg) full term delivery. Otherwise he is a normal active child. As his food intake is small and the fact that he dislikes milk , I would like to know the small quantity/high caloric content food that we can try for him. Also I am thinking about giving him half boiled eggs but the negative facts on food poisoning holds me back. I know that egg is highly nutritious as well as with high caloric content. He hates hard boiled of fried eggs. How can i give him half boiled eggs and still be sure that he doesnt get any food poisoning? Please advice.
AnswerHi Roy,
If the doctor sees no problem with his current weight, there may be no worry. Strangely, when we are younger, we seems to all be much slimmer than we become after we hit middle age.
If you really feel his weight is of concern, I'd have to advise checking with a medical professional for dietary advice. Such is difficult to give out without knowing much more than you could provide for my use.
I wish you and your son the very best of luck,
