QuestionI am 6' tall and currently 160lbs. I want to be up to 180 - 185lbs and I know its not going to happen overnight. I currently lift heavy weights for about an 1 to 1.5 hours everyday and run 10 minute miles for 3 miles afterwards everyday. What amount of carbs, proteins, and others should I be ingesting in order to accomplish my weight gaining goal without changing my routine and gaining good weight and not fat?
Answer40-60% of your diet should be carbs. 30% of your diet should be fats (only 10% of that being saturated fat)... and the rest protein. However, since you are tryingt o gain more weight I would suggest increasing your protein intake slightly. The major point is to increase your daily caloric intake, it doesn't necessarily matter with what. But since you are lifting weights most of your extra calories should come from protein.
