Why is it that we have to wait 2-3 hours after a meal before going to sleep? And is that 2-3 hour wait fixed whther a have a bowl of cereal or steak for dinner?

Hello Shi,

   Thank you for your nutrition question.  The reason that you should not eat a meal before bed is because your body needs time to digest the food properly.  Laying down immediately after a meal can also cause heart burn and other digestive problems.  If you are only having a bowl of cereal is should not affect your digestion..however, a big dinner may cause some discomfort.  Hope this helps.
