QuestionMy girlfriend has been excerising the past month for 5 days a week on an elliptical for approximately 20-30 minutes. She is overweight and has high cholesterol. She has become very disgruntled as she has not lost any weight at all and even sometimes gains weight. She has also taken in less calories and fat in an attempt to lose weight (the weight watchers diet). She also says she doesn't look different in the mirror at all.
She feels like everything she does is not working and she is on the verge of giving up.
She claims the only time she ever lost weight was when she was using "Herbalife." I am very concerned about her health and I would rather her not take some sort of dietary supplement.
My questions are:
1) Why is she not losing any weight at all despite a whole month of dieting and exercising?
2) Are supplements such as Herbalife safe?
3) What would you recommend in order for her to lose weight?
4) Is it possible to do all this exercise and not
Answer1. She's probably losing fat, but developing muscle. The scale will weigh a pound of nails the same as it will weigh a pound of feathers - but obviously the mass is very different.
How are her clothes fitting? She should go by that, or measurements, rather than depend on a scale. Most boxers are officially "obese"!!!! According to the BMI charts, they are dangerously "overweight". It's because muscle weighs so much (they are obviously neither of these things!)
2. Herbalife is a complete waste of money. NONE of these things work. Whatever else your gf was doing at that time is what contributed to her weight loss. NOT the pill, potion or powder.
3. Dump the diets - for real! Start eating the right things at regular intervals and I PROMISE she'll see a difference inside of a month.
It's just a month. What has the past month accomplished?
4. Yes. See number 1
Check my site - it's free, no signing in, no pitches, products or lies. It's honestly just there to help, because I've been fat - and I've done it all - and I can swear, this is what works. NO MORE DIETS! EVER.
