QuestionHello!
I am beyond frustrated with the excess fat in my lower abdomen. Since the birth of mysecond child...it has not come off at all. I am a dancer, and I dance 5 days a week. I dont eat fried foods or red meat. I am content with the rest of my body. Although my weight is higher than I would like to be (I am 5'4" and weigh about 150) I know that I have over developed quads and a lot of muscle retained from modern dance. It seems no matter what I do, they weight there will not come off. Any suggestions would be very helpful!
Thank you,
April
AnswerApril,
We all store fat differently. Some store it around the abdomen some around the hips and thighs, etc... There is no real way to spot reduce when it comes to fat! When you lose weight you lose from all over your body and not just one specific spot. You CAN build muscle in one area but not just lose fat from one specific area.
I would take a look at your diet. It is great that you don't eat fried foods but what does the rest of your diet look like? Make sure you are not eating more calories than you need, more fat than you think, more sugar than you need, etc... Make sure you are including all of the food groups each day: fruits, veggies, lean meats, low fat or fat free dairy products, and grains. To find out more about how many calories you need daily and what to include you can check out www.mypyramid.gov.
You may want to keep a food diary for yourself for a few weeks to really see what you are eating daily. Sometimes it is hard to keep track and you are eating more than you think.
