reducing cholesterol

Question
Dear Todd.I'm a 45 year old woman, and was diagnosed with high cholesterol level. My doctor wanted to reduce it through reducing the fat content in my meals. However, one of friends advised me to drink one cup of water in the morning with one spoon of apple vinegar.Would this really work, and if it does, does it have any side effects?
Thanks alot for ur time.

Answer
Noura,

Apple vinegar will have no effect on you cholesterol levels.  It is a silly notion.  I do not know of any serious side effects, but I think it would make me sick to my stomach.

Listen to your doctor not your friend.  Limit your saturated fats (animal fats) and trans fats (margarine and fried foods).  You can get more info here:

Best wishes.
