QuestionLately I've heard from a few people that milk takes more calcium out of your body than it puts in. I'm told it takes calcium away because it goes through the digestion system so quickly. However my whole life I've been told Milk is a great source of calcium.
Does milk really take more calcium out of your body than it gives you or is it indeed a good source for calcium?
AnswerHave not heard this and have seen no scientific studies done to prove this! As far as I know milk is still a great source of calcium for the body. In addition milk contains vitamin D, which aids in the absorption of calcium. I would ask the people that told you this what their SOURCE was!! Many times people don't take a close enough look at the source and if it is reputable!!
