QuestionHello
I have a question about eating apples.
For a couple of years now I have been trying different foods in a goal of eat healthy and keep my body fat down. 8 days ago, I tried eating an red delicious apple, medium, for breakfast, with a glass of water.
I get up early, eat around 5 AM; by 7:30-8:00 AM, when I am at work, my stomach is growling.
No matter what I ate for breakfast! And no matter what quantity of food also.
So one morning I trid eating a red apple. By 7:30-8:00, not hungry! Even at 9, 10, 11 - not hungry. I tried to eat my normal lunch, felt nauseated because I ate too much. Next day I cut back on the quantity of lunch (salad wuth fat-free dressing). Afternoon was a small can of chicken breast is water. But I could only eat 1/2 of the can. I felt still full! In fact, when I went home for dinner, I ate what was left in my lunch INSTEAD of normal dinner. I had plain almonds, a bananna, more saladand for late night snack; another apple.
What is with apples? Nothing I have ever eaten for breakfast killed my appetite lie an apple!
AnswerHi JT,
I'm really not sure why the apple would have that effect on you. Apples do have a lot of fibre, which helps keep you feeling full, but they are not bulky enough to keep you full all day long! Perhaps your system happened to have an "off" day the day you had the apple and you just didn't have your normal appetite?
Sorry I can't give you a more specific answer, but there is no "obvious" reason I can think of why your body would react like that to an apple.
