Hi Kimberly,
Lately I've been seeing packaged food labels which list 0 for
trans fats content. Yet the ingredients may include some type of
hydrogenated oils. I thought hydrogenated oils automatically
meant trans fats would be included. Can you fill me in on this?

Trans fats are now required on all food labels! If the trans fats are less than 0.5 grams/serving than they can be listed as 0 grams on the labels so that is probably the case with what you are seeing.

AnswerNo, partially hydrogenated oils ARE trans fatty acids BUT it could be that there is so little in the product, less than 0.5 grams, that they can then state that there is 0 grams on the label.
