hi, I have been having a hard time with weight loss for a time. I have been trying to lose weight for years. I am now 38, mother of a beautiful daughter (age 2). I have hypothyro飀s. My doctor states that my current medication is sufficient. I have been charting my weight weekly. Since december 17, 2005, I have been consitently putting on 1,5 pound a week. I am doing light execise, daily, swim at aquatots on monday, walk on tuesday (30 min), walk on wednesday (60 min), thursd none, friday (30 min walk), sat and sunday play outside with baby. I have come to terms with the fact that that is all I can do untill my daughter consistently does her nights. I am very tired, work full time. for food, I eat approx 2200 cal a day, tree meal 2 snacks, nothing past 7 pm. my portion control is fine. I am eating well, fruits veggies, low sugar, some fat but not in large quantities. I am 5feet five and currently with my weight gain balooned above, 200pnd. I have seen my doctor and explained how tired I am and how my weight gain is not a result of what I am eating (I really can't see it !). I have tried many diets, but I will admit right now my frame of mind is to make peace with food, I am unwilling to accept of classify certain foods as "forbiden". I am also working on not eating for emotional reasons, I would have expected to lose weight in the last two weeks, but that is not what is happening. I want results, but I don't want it to rule my life. I want to be as peace with food, my body and my emotions, any suggestions....or ideas on what I am doing wrong?

I hear your frustration, and fatigue. Something has gotta give!
You won't consider that some foods should be "forbidden" but are forbidden to eat after 7PM? Eat when you are hungry, the big deal is what you eat, and the sooner you respond to hunger, the better the chance of making a intelligent choice.
Please give http://www.premiumfuel.com a read, home page and Sugar page and consider kicking refined sugar/flour out of your life. What has been taken for emotional eating is usually more of a nutrional problem, and chronic dehydration for mistaking beverages with diuretics for water.
thank you for your promp answer and suggestions, intuitivelly I understand the information you sent me, it is not like I have not tried this before, and I like the idea, I just don't feel ready to kick it completely (the sugar and flour), it would be a huge step for me socially and with my husband (he certainlly would not accept that we all go sugar and flour free...)so then we are talking making two kinds of bread (I make my own) etc etc. I do by the way like stevia, but I am uncertain about the possible effects for my daughter, studies seem divided on this, it seems to depend on who was paid to do the research. I will go back to the site to see what the book suggest....thanks again

Listen to your intuitions, try what makes sense to you, and I fully acknowledge that outside your own kitchen it can be quite a challenge, but feeling good is addictive.
Good for you for following the money regarding Health Headlines. The politics of refined sugar were written before the US Constitution, but hopefully the laws will be changed regarding adding stevia to products - I believe it will change the costs of health care.
