Cooking burgers on the George Foreman Grill would not cut the protein amount of the burgers by much because the temperature does not get extremely high. However, when foods are cooked at very high temperatures like on a barbequie it does cause the proteins to breakdown significantly. The result is a very hard piece of meat which makes it very difficult to digest when eaten. Hope this helps. Keep those questions coming!

Are you 100% sure that cooking meat at very high temperatures cuts the protein amount significantly? Is it better to just cook the meat just slightly, in order to get more protein?
AnswerDear Chris,
It is better to cook the meat slightly but make sure that it reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees to avoid foodborne illness. Use a meat thermometer in order to make sure. Extreme heat breaks down the amino acids in the protein along with other nutrients. This is why eating a diet higher in raw fruits and vegetables is healthier for you.
