QuestionSir,
Would you recommend mayonnaise on a home-made salad? If you do, what would be a better choice: fat-free mayo OR regular mayo but with 0 carbs.
Also, I love cheese. What, according to you, should be my best choice from a health standpoint(kindly be very specific)
Thanks
AnswerDear Jascha,
Great to hear from you. I would recommend the fat-free mayo but still be very moderate because it may still contain cholesterol.
As for cheese I would recommend feta cheese because it is lower in calories then most cheeses. The intense flavor of feta has an exceptional appeal in salads when combined with olives, tomatoes, and a variety of greens, including fresh spinach. It is also a distinctive addition to a Mediterranean-style antipasti tray along with sliced onion, cucumber, and hot pickled peppers. A dramatic dish of this kind can be made by marinating feta overnight in extra virgin olive oil, fresh herbs, garlic, and chile peppers. Feta is also used in baking, and in such savory pastries as spanakopita.
Here is a complete breakdown of a wedge.
