QuestionHi, here is my dilema. I am a 31 y/o female. I am 5'4 and weigh 210 pounds. I have been working out for about a month now. I work out 4 days a week for about an hour and a half each day. I have also changed my diet considerably. I quit snacking on junk food around the house. If I get hungry between meals I have a bowl of Cheerios or a piece of fruit. My husband and I are on the road a lot so we eat fast food A LOT. I have cut most of that out of my diet as well. I might eat at a fast food resturant one time every week or two depending on how demanding our schedule is. You have to understand this is very good for me because it was not a rareity to eat fast food 6 or 7 times in a week. I do not eat a lot of veggies. Corn, green beans, broccoli and cucumbers is about it. Now with all my dieting and working out I am not seeing any weight loss. Before I got pregnant I weighed 125 pounds so I can be thin. Do you have any suggestions?
Also, when working out in a gym (machines and cardio) what works best? Will working on the machines help me lose weight or will it just build my muscles?
Thanks for your help.
Angie
AnswerAngie,
It is about impossible for me to tell you why you are not losing weight. I need to be able to work with you and get a lot more info before I could help you out in that way. All I can say is to watch portion sizes! You have made some great changes but if you are still eating too many calories you won't lose the weight! Watch things like soft drinks, etc... that can add calories without you realizing it. As far as exercise, to burn stored fat you need to be doing cardio exercise! However, building muscle is also important because muscle burns calories! So really a combo of both is best.
