QuestionThank you so much for your time, patience(all my questions) & concern ~ what multivitamin do you take? THere are so many choices in retail stores & we want one that has beneficial, quality ingredients.......I'm 51 & my boyfriend 54 ~ we want to eat healthier ~ feel better & loose weight ~ thats why we started on herbalife program ~ its very expensive & more importantly Ive heard alot of negative comments from all expert volunteers ~ do you know of a cleansing program available to elimanate toxins? ~ herbalife offers one called 21 day cleansing >AM/PM ~ 21 days 4 times a year ~ ~~~~~~ thank you :)
AnswerI'm SO glad you mentioned the word "cleansing" and elimination of toxins. All you need to do is keep your body functioning well and this amazing organism, using the liver and kidneys, purifies just perfectly.
In fact, real medical studies (not the nonsense these sales pitches cite) have repeatedly proven that fasts or juice 'diets' that last more than a couple days may actually cause a back up of toxins, contribute to gallstones, kidney stones and infections because the system isn't functioning at optimum levels.
I don't take a multivitamin. I only recommend them because people seem to feel more secure taking something they buy rather than just believing they're doing fine with a proper food intake.
It's really not that difficult to get the right stuff in the right amounts. Manufacturers of products want you to believe otherwise because their $40 BILLION per year industry depends on it.
If you want to FEEL healthy, start glowing (it really shows through your skin and hair), lose any excess weight you may have and rest assured that you're system is "cleansed", it's as simple as eliminating fast foods (for the most part, none of them are healthy) and focusing on increasing whole grains. Read the ingredients, not just the labels. Be sure that "whole grain" appears in the first three words, or put it right back down. Don't believe claims of "good source of whole grains" or "real whole grain" and so on. Too many people make the purchase based on the big print when it's the small print (ingredients) that count.
Increase fruits (just 3 bananas, apples or pears a day; or ANY other fruit aside from coconut/avocados, will be a joy to enjoy!), decrease red meats.
Oh and the largest investment you should make? A $5.00 pedometer. Nothing fancy. Just be sure you put that pedometer on the moment you get dressed and when you take it off at the end of the day, look for 10,000 steps to be registered. If it's not, relax, just park a bit further from the entrance to the buildings tomorrow. Look for extra trips (by foot) to make around your house. It REALLY counts! Take walks with your companion, offer to walk someone's dog, or take the neighbor's kids to the park (and don't sit down!). Join a volunteer group in your area for park clean up, animal preserves, anything you LIKE - but again, don't sit down.
I promise you - in just 3 months or LESS - you will feel and look Maaahhr'valous!!!
