AnswerHello Dovey!
Thank you for your nutrition question. In order to find out how many servings of fruits and vegetables you need I would recommend that you visit www.mypyramid.gov
Just enter your age, gender, and activity level and it will give you a complete menu of serving sizes specifically for you.
The Food Pyramid suggests 3 to 5 servings of vegetables each day.
One serving of vegetables would be:
1 cup of raw leafy vegetables
1/2 cup of other vegetables, cooked or raw
3/4 cup of vegetable juice
The Food Pyramid suggests 2 to 4 servings of fruit each day
One serving of fruit would be:
One medium apple, orange or banana
1/2 cup of chopped, cooked or canned fruit
3/4 cup of fruit juice
I would also recommend checking out www.juiceblend.com to find out how you can get more fruits and vegetables into your diet in an easy and convenient way.
