QuestionHello Mr. Rapitis,
I am 38 years old, 5 ft.5 and weigh 250 pounds.
I have been on a new eating plan a week now and I have lost 5 pounds.
I am not on a "fad diet", I have simply cut back on fat and eat much more fruits and vegetables and watch my portion sizes.
And I have replaced water for soda.
After a week of this,it now takes much less food to make me feel full. In fact, I can't believe how much I used to eat.
Is this normal or should I be concerned?
And how much can I safely lose in a week?
Thank you very much for your time.
AnswerHello Elizabeth!
Thank you for your nutrition question. Congratulations on your new healthy eating habits! It sounds like you are on the right track. Healthy weight loss is about 1-2lbs per week. This might sound like a low number however, people that lose weight gradually tend to keep it off in the long run. I wish you much success!
