QuestionHi there,
I've always had issues with food. I go too long without eating and a
few years ago I was 97 pounds and almost lost a baby. Now I am
healthier after my third child, at 120 pounds (I am 5 feet tall). I
have been exercising to tone up, and I know I have to eat
appropriate amounts of carbs and protein in each meal. However, I
seem to be falling back into the "forgetting to eat" trap and I'll go
all day without eating until 6-7 pm. There's a part of me that is
holding to the thinking that if I eat more food (regardless of it
being healhty) than I'll get fat. What is this?
Answer You need to schedule a routine for yourself and 'forget to change it'. It's just as easy to establish a habit of getting up and having whole grain cereal for breakfast (even if it's a cup full that you eat with your fingers while reading the paper - just be sure to empty the cup) - grabbing a banana on your way out the door or sharing it (slathered with peanut butter) with the kids (sooo good for everyone!).
If nothing else, you know you need to establish good eating patterns now for your children's sake. Isn't the last thing you want for them - is for them to have weight issues, health complications or eating disorders?
