QuestionI am a freshman in highschool. I am very self conscious about my body. I want to lose 30-40 pounds. I am 15 years old and weigh 170 pounds. I play basketball for my school but I can't seem to lose any weight.
So my goal is to lose 30-40 pounds so I can enjoy my scvhool year.
Please help me!

At your age the only way to lose weight in a HEALTHY manner is to NOT think about dieting. You need to watch what you eat by eating healthier, watching portion sizes and drinking lots of water. However, do not skimp on calories! You need to maintain a certain amount of calories to support proper growth and development, which your body is still doing! You should shoot for 3 meals a day and a few healthy snacks in between. Cut back on fast foods, sweets, soft drinks and other high fat/ high calorie foods that don't contain a whole lot of nutrition. The other part of the equation is exercise! You may want to add to your basketball with some other sports or activities you enjoy like walking, swimming, dancing, volleyball, etc... Just stay active EVERY DAY!!
