Bathroom scales

Question
I have a Taylor mechanical scale at home, and the other day i weighed myself, because I had gone to a vegetarian diet, and knew I had lost weight. The scale said i was 178 lbs(I was 195), so i was very pleased. Two days later, i had to go to the doctor for severe poison ivy, and they weighed me, on one of those tall ones with the weights that you move, and they said I was 192! Of course I had all my clothes on at the office, but how can there be that much of a discrepancy? Is my scale not accurate? Or is theirs not? It looks about 100 years old! Thanks!

Answer
Hello Susan!

Thank you for your nutrition question. I would recheck your home scale by putting a 10lb bag of sugar to make sure it is working correctly.  The doctors office scale should be the most accurate but they can be off at times too.
