QuestionHello i have been dieting for three weeks now and i cant lose any weight all of a sudden. I am 6'2 male and i weighed 288.8 when i started. The first week i did good on my diet and dropped down to 282.2 but i went off it over the weekend and was back to 287.8 starting the second week of my diet. So i knew starting the next week that i needed to stay strict on my diet all week long which i did. By the end of the second week i was back down to 281.3 starting the third week of my diet on monday. Here it is Friday five days into week three of my diet and i am still at 280.3 pounds. I dont understand what is going on i am working out like crazy everyday and not losing much weight this week. Am i at a sticking point or do i need to do something diffrent. Here is what i am eating everday.
Meal 1 8-9 am 1 Bowl of oatmeal 370 cal 4 fat grams
Meal 2 11am 1 Myoplex shake 280 cal 3 fat grams
Meal 3 1pm 1 Footlong turkey Subway sand on wheat no cheese 740 cal. 10 fat grams
Meal 4 3pm 1 Myoplex shake 280 cal 3 fat grams
Between 4pm-6pm 30 minutes weight training one body part per day and 1 hour on elliptical. I dont know how many calories i am burning lifting the weights but while i am on the elliptical i burn 822 calories.
Meal 5 6:15pm one cup of fiber one cereal and one cup of fat free milk 220 calories 4 fat grams
Total Calories 1,840 Total fat 24
I am eating every 2-3 hours to keep my metabloism going what else can i do. I feel frustrated!
AnswerI cannot give you personal recommendations unless I am actually working with you as a client. It is impossible for me to know why someone isn't losing weight unless I am working with them exclusively! I can tell you by what you wrote down that you are not getting enough of all of the food groups. I would rather see someone eat real foods than to drink shakes. You lack fruit, enough whole grains, vegetables, and enough dairy in your diet plan. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water too!
It may be, but again this is only a guess since I really don't know much about you, that you are gaining muscle and that is why the scale is stuck. You can't always rely on the scale. You should have body fat measured and/or take body measurements to monitor yourself! IF you are losing inches, than you are losing fat! I would suggest checking out www.mypyramid.gov to find out what you should be eating in the way of your food groups!
If you are looking for someone to work with you I do offer online services. You can check out www.nutrifocus.net.
