QuestionHi Susan!
I've been trying to lose weight through an improved diet and more exercise and have enjoyed moderate success. Tinned baked beans featured heavily on my new menu but just today I noticed that there's 10g of carbs per 100g contained in my brand - is this a lot? I had been told to cut down on pasta, rice and potatoes whilst trying to lose weight so should i reduce my intact of beans too? If so, can you suggest an alternative?
Many thanks,
Alan :)
AnswerHi Alan,
There are quality carbs, which are needed, then the rest, which are counter-productive.
Pasta made of refined flour is junk, white rice, unless it is converted rice, is junk, and peeled potatoes cooked twice are junk. Whole grained pasta, brown rice and scrubbed, steamed, baked, fried in a little olive oil potatoes are your friends.
