QuestionLast year I exercised and dieted hard to get to 10% body fat. My body looked great but my face became so gaunt and veins in my forehead became pronounced. Family and friends convinced me to put weight back on to make my face younger. I am now back at 20% and want to get back my six pack but without losing my face fat. Any suggestions?
I am 46 and prefer aerobic to strength exercises
AnswerScott,
Because of the way we are genetically programmed, we tend to keep fat in certain "proportions" around our body. This means that when you loose enough fat for your six-pack to show you face looked as it did. This pretty much means that the look of your abs and your face are a package deal; you can't have one without the other. One concept is scientifically clear; there is no such thing as "spot reduction". This means that you cannot selectively loose fat in only one area of the body.
Perhaps you could find a happy medium. What about 15% body fat?
Best of luck.
