QuestionHi. I was hoping you could give me your opinion on detox dieting/fasting and
explain any positive or negative health effects. I am not interested in any
spiritual or psychological benefits. The specific diet I am referring to is
drinking fruit juice/smoothies and not eating any solid food for seven days.
Can this really be healthy? I find it difficult to believe that messing with your
metabolism in this way can actually be good for you, but many people seem
to think detox diets are great. What are your thoughts?

I know it took a while to answer I left your question for last. I have a lot of different thoughts on detoxing and fasting.Fasting is never good, a full fast. Detoxing is great, you should do a detox or cleansing of the body 2 x per year. Colon,kidneys,liver and so on, some fasting may occur during the cleansing but not because you are restricting food but because this cleanse won't allow you to eat food. Doing something like this actually jumpstarts your metabolic rate. And then detox dieting, the real way is when you start cutting things out like sugar to see what kind of reaction your body gets. Drinking juice for 7 days, not really a good idea.or at least not in my opinion.
