calories or calories from fat

Question
Hi there! I have started an 1800 Calorie diet but, am a bit confused by the labels that have a number for calories and calories from fat. Which number do I calculate into my diet? Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Ronna

Answer
Ronna,

Use the "Calories".  This is the total amount of calories per serving and should be more than the "Calories from Fat".

Make sure you calculate the number of servings correctly.  For example; if the serving size is 3/4 cup and there are 100 calories per serving, and you eat one cup, the calculation would be:
1.25 servings x 100 calories per serving = 125 calories

I hope this helps.
