QuestionI guess I have a two questions. First I am trying to drink 10- 16oz bottles of water everyday. Is this too much water, is it helping me or hurting me. I need to lose 20 lbs and am doing this as a way of keeping the fullness feeling. Also and tips to help me lose weight and keep it off would be great. I just became single and find it hard to eat as healthy as I would like now....Thanks Mike
AnswerHow much water do I need for weight loss?
There's no consensus in this problem. Some experts state that you need up to 12 cups cups, some say, you should drink just to satisfy your thirst. Being in research on physiology for years, I tend to agree with the "thirst" theory since I know well how easily and accurately the body controls water intake while it fails doing so with the food intake.
Another question is, is it exclusively water that "helps to burn the fat" as many popularization put it. I don't think so. From what I know about eating behavior, any bulk can do and many bulky, low-calorie-density foods do it better than water.
Yet another question is hydration and this can get serious if you "spend" your fluid intake on coffee or caffeinated drinks so your body is fooled by their volume and your thirst stops but soon your diuresis increases du to the caffeine and you body loses more liquid that gets.
