QuestionHello I am 14 years old 4,2 and I wheigh 204 pounds. I have lost ten pounds by running a mile on the tred mill four times a week. The problem is that I am still exccesively over eating. During breakfast I eat a pop tart or a bagal with cheese ham and egg. I eat at school and those are my two choices. For lunch I usally Have a sandwich with wheat bread, turkey, roastbeef, Lettuce and tamato. For dinner I will have what ever my mom gives me. after that if im still hungry I eat a sandwich or a frute of some sort. Then sometimes I will eat a bag of patato chips and some hot chcolate. Well my goal is to lose 20 pounds in a month but I need help so see if what I am eating is ok and if I should do more exercies than I am already doing. So please send me some advice.
AnswerDear Adrian, The foods you are choosing to eat are too high in sugar and carbohydrates. Carbohydrate foods are turned into sugar in the bloodstream. You are living off sugar which makes you hungry and makes you crave more sugar. It's a terrible cycle that you will have to break. This sugar will first make you gain weight easily, second, cause you to get hungry and crave more food quickly. Foods that promote weight control without cravings are protein foods like eggs, egg whites, low fat milk, tuna fish, lean meats, fish, chicken, and pork. You can have carbohydrates but they should only be in the form of vegetables, limited whole grain bread, whole fruits, and limited beans. Healthy fats are also important in the diet. Those fats are found in salad oils, nuts and olives. Stay away from pasta, rice, bagels, mac and cheese, pizza, fruit juices, anything with sugar in it, and other starchy carbohydrate foods. Ask your doctor for a dietician referral so you can get your self on a healthy diet that is void of sugar. Continue the treadmill like you were doing. Hope that helps, Laura Kraemer,Slimkids.com
