QuestionI am 18 years old, 6'1, male, and about 186 pounds. I'm trying to lose a little fat off of my lower stomach, I've been running pretty constantly (20 mins/session) and doing ab exercises for over a year now and I am mostly satisfied with my health except for the fat around the lower abs where my belly button is and I don't eat any particularly bad foods often. So my question is why won't that little bit of fat come off? Is it a genetic thing because I might
eat foods very sparse in carbs or fats for a while and the fat will lessen except that I am hungrier than usual. Do I need to do more running? I'm guessing you get this kind of question alot but I am getting frustrated now since I've been quite disciplined about getting the fat off and I've built plenty of muscle but can't get rid of that little bit of fat and it just bothers me. What should I do? Thanks
Answer
Hello,
It all depends on many things like:
1. How "sparse in carbs or fats" is your diet? Depending on carbs:fat:protein ratio, a diet can make you hungry or not.
2. How challenging is your running speed? Do you constantly increase it?
3. Do you do only abdominal exercises or follow a structured strength training plan?
4. What is your fat percent?
