Now,however, no matter what i do i just keep getting fatter! I can do right for weeks on end and maybe lose a 1 pound, but if I have a weekend off or maybe even a week I gain 5 pounds! No joke!! What can i do and what is going on????
AnswerHello Liza!
Thank you for your nutrition question. When you lose weight then put it back on over a long period time, your metabolism(rate which you burn calories) tends to slow down making it harder to lose weight.
In order to rev up your metabolism try eating small frequent meals throughout your day. Never skip meals. Check out www.mypyramid.gov where you can create a healthy eating plan by entering your age, gender, and activity level.
I would also recommend revving up your metabolism by increasing your physical activity. You can do this by walking daily for 30-60 minutes, swimming, or bikeriding. It is also helpful if you do a little light weightlifting to build more muscle and make you leaner.
The following book would be very helpful Ask the Nutritionists (Paperback)
by George Rapitis (Author), it is available at www.authorhouse.com, online, and your favorite bookstore.
