QuestionI am on a weight lifting regiment. I go to work at 6 am and return home around 4:40 pm. I hit the gym and lift hard for an hour with 30 minutes of cardio. I eat healthy (high protein diet) and go to bed around 10 pm. I have been doing this quite some time. I am slimming a bit and firming up. My problem is that I am exhausted all the time. From the time I go to work until the time I go to bed, I am beat! I have had every energy drink known to man and none work. What can I do?
Thanks.
AnswerMy guess is that you have probably cut too many carbs out of your diet and those are the foods that help with energy! Instead of "high protein" I recommend a more well-rounded diet that includes protein and carbs. Try to eat 6 small meals a day to help keep energy levels up. Energy drinks are mostly caffeine and sugar so they only give you that quick boost and then the big let down which makes you even more tired. Do away with those! I would just take a good look at your diet and make sure you are including ALL of the food groups and not over-doing it on the protein!
You can check out www.mypyramid.gov. Also, make sure you are not dehydrated and that you are drinking plenty of water everyday!
You may also want to speak with your doctor to ensure there no underlying medical problems for your exhaustion.
