QuestionI want to reduce my tummy which is happening, i jog for 2 km, and do cardio gym exercise 5 days a week, and have considerable reduced my food intake, but instead of loosing the fat from tummy, my shoulders have become weak and legs thin, whereas i want a good thighs and shoulder and less tummy, also what is the effect if i do rigorous gym and take less food, will it burn fat in body or destroys tissue instead of growing it.
AnswerHello Sudeepts,
Thank you for your question and I apologize for my delay in answering.
The popular theory is that if we starve ourselves of food and exercise 24/7, then we will lose weight and look like a super-model.
For me, this never worked. So, if you wish to continue with this theory, you will have no shortage of "experts" who are willing to agree with you.... problem being, I doubt they can show any proof that this ever worked for them either.
If you do not truly enjoy your exercise, please do not do it. Your note sounds like you are becoming an expert in punishing yourself... from no food to constant exercise.
I suggest you do the opposite of this.
a) eat whenever you want from low-carb foods.
b) stop all the exercise until you have started losing weight from the low carb plan (and, you will lose weight from the low carb plan).
You do not mention that you wish to lose a great deal of weight, but you mention your tummy... if this is large, then this may be the first indicator of insulin resistance and the low carb program will help with this too.
Best,
Mary Jo
