Hey,
I recently heard that fasting was a safe, and quick way to lose weight. Although most people do it for religious reasons i really want to lose weight fast. Im 19, 5'6 and im around 160pounds. I used to be 120 so fasting seems like the way to go, any ideas?  your opinion on this would be great..

Fasting safe? Maybe for a day or two. Otherwise, no.
 Yes, fasting as part of religious events is undertaken, but they rarely last more than a day or up to three and they are modified. Some are called 'fasts' when they actually allow certain foods or just disallow a certain group.
 In any event, the facts are that fasts will result in the loss of fluid weight.  Within a week after going off the fast, the weight is re-gained almost completely.
 If a fast continues too long you may alter your metabolism by losing muscle mass or tone (yes, even if you exercise) and then not only re gain the fluids lost, but start adding fat as your body responds to what it instinctively perceives and reacts to as starvation.

 I have fasted - up to 30 days!  The weight loss was 5 lbs and within 7 days after going off it, I had gained 9 lbs.

  AND yes, I've not only taken the weight off, but it's been many years now and it's still off - and I eat everything I want!
