QuestionI understand that in the market there are glucosamine capsule some are sodium base and the other are potassium base. Which of the two are better and what is the difference between these two. The one I am taking is sodium base and is derived from seafood. Will it caused a increase in our body weight taking these capsule.
Thanks,
Alvin
AnswerWhile most glucosamine products do contain sodium or potassium, many contain both. The answer is straightforward - both salts, in the pure form, deliver equally effective amounts of the desired glucosamine to joint cartilage. If there is a preference, it should be based on relative purity of the product and your personal economics.
There is no evidence to say that there is any weight gain as a result of either form of glucosamine.
